Shetland Sheepdogs have been a big part of our lives since 1986 and 1992. Arnhild had the kennel name Sheltibo until 2004 and the first registered litter under this prefix was born in 1990.  She grew up with hunting dogs and a hunting father also being a huntingtrial-judge. With this background it was very easy to choose dogs and breeding as a main interest also as a grown up.  Sheltibo`s foundation-bitch "Golden Country Star", was born in 1985 and the 7.th. generation including her was born in our kennel,  in May 2005.

Charles started up as 20 year old with Drentsche Patrijshond in Holland. He trained the dogs for hunting and they were his close companions for many years. He also trained his first shelties for herding.  His first sheltie came to his home in 1992, when the last Drent “ Tommy” died. Charles kennel affix was Of Papa Stour.  His first bitch "Aras Damh Angarhed Aisling" was the start Of Papa Stour shelties and 4.th.generation saw daylight in 2004.

Since the very beginning it has been many hours and days by the puppy basket, and also many good times with the grown up dogs.  We have separately bred 19 and 16 litters since we started up. 12 Crofts-litters are already born on top of this, the 2,5 years together has been very active in showing and breeding.

We moved together Summer 2004 and we got FCI`s  acceptance  for the new common kennel prefix "Croft" in January 2005.

The Shetland Sheepdog is a fantastic breed – healthy, happy and fast. Just enough sleepy in the morning and like to stay inside when the rain is falling down.  But still strong and long-lasting when needed.  As a family dog it is ideal with all it's happiness, love and perfect size.
Our breeding covers all colours: sable, tricolour,bi-colour and blue merle. After so many years of breeding the ordinary colours, we needed new challenges. We decided in 2005 to start a program with the bi-colours.  To keep the colours going and develop nice type and expressions. We have spent much time looking for nice types, but unfortunately, because of  PRA, it is not much left from unaffected lines. Therefore we will contribute with some North-American bloodlines to gain the colour-gene. After 16 years  working with difficult colour-breeding chocolate/lilac Persian Cats, and many sidesteps in type, we consider it possible to do the same in Sheltie breeding. We believe in mixing all lines, where ever they come from, with the goal breeding healthy shelties with long coat, sweet heads with the typical Sheltie-look, low on legs and in correct proportions. Good temper is also our goal.  All our dogs so far in the pack have a marvellous temper and good nerves.

We have also imported a new breed in Norway, Drentsche Patrijshond. This became effective in June 2005 when "Dronnia Phébe van Groevenbeek" entered Norwegian soil. This is a wonderful breed.  Eager to please, a happy and active bitch with a healthy construction and wonderful colours.  Dronnia fits the sheltie-stock perfect!
